Shorelines and Oceans

Beaches and oceans are a means and way of life for many coastal communities, especially those in Florida. They provide recreational opportunities and enable local economies. But when the beaches and oceans become contaminated from a variety of sources such as from malicious activities, sewage treatment plant failures, or polluted runoff people, businesses, communities, and marine wildlife suffer.

By participation and continual education, Florida’s beaches and oceans can be preserved. And through public and community awareness and voluntary participation in environmental programs, the goals to preserve Florida’s coastal and ocean heritage will be further advanced leaving a legacy of clean beaches and oceans.
