Welcome to the Ye Mystic Krewe of the Nautilus! We are a not for-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in March 2003. Our mission is to create an organization that promotes Florida environmental awareness and conservation through friendly partnerships, education, charity sponsorship and community service. To reinforce our conservation spirit, we model our persona after the 19th century fictional submarine and environmentally conscious Krewe of the Nautilus similar to Jules Verne’s classic “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” in parades and other social events.

  • What is the Krewe of the Nautilus? We are a Tampa Bay Based organization founded on March 17, 2003. We are a family oriented Krewe open to singles and families. The goal of the Krewe is to promote environment awareness and conservation through participation – have fun with the environment. The Krewe participates in various clean-up and reef projects in the Tampa Bay area.
  • What the your goals/mission? Our mission is to create an organization that promotes Florida environmental awareness and conservation through friendly partnerships, education, charity sponsorship and community service. To achieve this goal, we provide our members with opportunities to participate and educate in conservation and environmental awareness efforts. We also strive to entertain the Tampa Bay Area by emulating the 19th century fictional submarine and environmentally conscious Krewe and Captain of the Nautilus similar to Jules Verne’s classic “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” in parades and other social events.
  • How many members do you have? Approximately 125
  • Type of members? Family oriented with singles and couples.
  • What is your float? Our float is a giant two story green submarine modeled after captain Nemo’s submarine including a giant squid attack. It has two flushing toilets, bar, rest area and second floor observation deck.
  • What are your costumes? Our costumes our modeled after the post civil war era. The men wear the military jackets, sash and boots, while the women wear corsets, skirts and boots. The colors of the costumes of bright nautical with sequin flair.
  • What kind of clean-ups do you participate in? We participate in nationally and locally clean-up efforts yearly (Great American, Keep America Beautiful and Hillsborough County Rivers and Waterways Clean-up). We have also adopted the "Jules Verne Park" (AKA Ballast Point Park). We also hold random events such as other point solution clean-ups, canoe trips and other environmental appreciation events for families.
  • What are your social events We have events that cater to both families and adults.

  • What are your charities? In order to better educate our members on the environment and conservation and help educated others in the community, we have has partnered with the Florida Aquarium and the 1Voice Foundation. Through our partnership, we hold fundraising events that generate funds for the Aquarium and allow us to sponsor environmental programs tailored to the families of the 1Voice Foundation.
